It seems like it has been forever since I have updated my poor blog!
At the end of March 2012, we finally received our referral!! We are sooo excited!! The social worker called me on my cell phone (I was still at work) in the afternoon, and I was so overjoyed, I was crying. She emailed his referral to me while we talked, and the first glimpse I got of his precious face sent me into tears of joy (again!). I got a hold of Patrick as soon as I hung up with the social worker. There has been much celebration in our family and at work - many people have been waiting alongside us for this momentous occasion!
We have since accepted our referral and sent in our acceptance paperwork. We are waiting to receive his "legals" to file with the I-600 here in the US - if all is going to schedule, we should get these in another week or two. Then, all we have to do is wait on a little red tape before bringing home baby Eli! We are praying to be able to travel by July/August to go get him, but we know that the process is running slower than it has in the past, so we will just keep on waiting and praying.
It has been an absolute joy to start preparing a package to send to our son (it feels to good to finally be able to say that!) and his foster family. We can't wait until he's home! I've been shopping and preparing for his arrival like crazy, and it has been wonderful finding things to keep me busy!
We have continued to work on our Hangul and can read fairly well, and although our vocabulary is somewhat limited, we have also begun working with a tutor to improve our language skills. We know that Eli will learn English very quickly, but we would like him to know at least a little of the Korean language!
